What happens if I use up my data allowance?
Our service allows you to have unlimited access. However, the connection speed will be reduced to 256Kbps until 12am once the data traffic volume exceeds 350MB. After 12am, the counter is reset.
Do I need to return the Pocket WiFi?
Yes, our pocket Wifi is a rental item, and it needs to be returned.
Please put the pocket Wifi, the AC adapter, and the USB Cable in the prepaid return envelope we provide, and drop it into the mailbox anywhere in Japan by the midnight of the return date. No return fee.
How do I set up the Wifi?
Turn on the WiFi unit by pushing the power button for about 3 seconds
Select the SSID and Enter Password we provide
Can I cancel my reservation?
We issue a full refund when an order is cancelled before 5 days or more prior to the start date(Pick up date). There are some charges for the cancellation made later than that.
This was the most useful item of my whole holiday! I was unsure if this would work, if I would be able to link it to my phone, if I would have enough data or even if it would be delivered to my hotel in time. It was perfect and so easy! I cannot recommend it highly enough. I mainly used it for Google maps. Made my holiday travel so smooth.

Got it on time and easy return. Good battery capacity. Generally worked well, except sometimes in Tokyo when it was very slow late in the day . I do not know if this was due to the fact I exceeded 350 Mb (which is very unlikely as I used it only for google map and some internet browsing) or whether due to coverage problem in Tokyo.

Using Light Pocket was for me the easiest, simplest uncomplicated way of going online in Japan. You can't always rely on local wifi ....it often involves tedious registration procedures - exactly what you don't want when you are standing on Shinbuya Station with trains arriving every few minutes with obscure destinations....!

Using this pocket wifi company was super easy and reliable! We picked up the package containing the pocket wifi from the airport post office right after we landed. The post office was easy to find, pick-up was fast and easy, and setting up the wifi and getting connected to the wifi took seconds. We had no problems with connection or the actual device throughout our 3 weeks in Japan (traveling both in large cities and in small mountain villages). Battery lasted a long time, we made sure to switch it off when we didn't use it and so we only had to charge it every 3-4 days. Dropping off the pocket wifi was super easy too; we just put everything in the pre-paid envelope that came in the package and put it in the mailbox at the same post office in Narita airport. I can recommend this company!

The light pocket WiFi was well worth having on our trip round Japan. There wa much more WiFi available than we expected in hotels and in some towns but a number of times we found ourselves needing information or translation when none was available. For example we were able to book a hotel and car while travelling on a train. Some trains had WiFi but not the Shikansen, surprisingly. Our Japanese grinds also found it useful to hook up to. We would recommend this service which was efficient and good value. Easy to return and we had it delivered to our friend’s house.For us it was better than having a sim as our phones only take one card.
