They didn't have many reviews or SNS information, but for the price, we just went for it. Lightpocket did not disappoint (: amazing option to pick up from a nearby post Office since we arrived to Japan via Hakata Port. Better priced than other travel websites, but I probably also got a Golden week deal. Rented 2 cloud wifis. Only con we had was that they would disconnect when we were in crowded places. ex: underground yakiniku that relies on online ordering, busy crowded tourist traps, but still worked deep underground on the subways so thats great. Would recommend this option to friends and family who plan to go to Japan. Return was easy, just placed back in provided envelope and dropped it in the Postbox before going thru gates at Narita.

The router was very easy to use and performed flawlessly. It was charged over night which was sufficient to last the full day. I visited only major cities so cannot comment on how the coverage would be in the more rural or remote areas of Japan.

We rented this Cloud WiFi unit for 89 days. It was delivered as promised to the Kyoto Central Post Office and was awaiting our arrival. Return was even easier, right in the mailbox outside our AirBnb. It worked seamlessly, except on 3 or 4 occasions the device needed a Power Off / Power On cycle as it would lock up. This was not detrimental to this review. Over 89 days, We deem that to be acceptable. We would definitely return to this company and this product when we return to Japan for our 9th trip in the future.

The router often took a long time to connect and a display would have been a lot easier to see, if the router is on and connected (a PocketWifi version with display wasn't available for us, unfortunately). Nevertheless we always had internet, also in rural areas and the data volume was more than enough for us.

Absolutely loved this service! I got the highspeed unlimited pocket wifi and it came with everything I needed = cord, plug, router with easy to find network name and password, AND a self addressed envelope for return. Just drop in the mail box (which (As of Dec 7,2022) there is one at Terminal 3 in Haneda check in, just in case you forget!) and be done! I had great service 99% of the time, and apparently I never went over my high speed data limit. I was on Facebook, Instagram, sending my family pics via Whatsapp and even did a few Whatsapp video calls. The video streaming wasn't as good as maybe at a hotel, but it was pretty good honestly. And when my husband finally joined me, he could easily join the network without having buy a sim chip, set anything up, blah blah blah. Just give him the password and done! Great for google maps, which is a must for me! I am not the heaviest data user and I didn't go to a ton of rural places, so if that sounds like you, you'll love this! And its such a good price, especially for a long term option (46 days for me!). Everything else was looking at double or more!
